CANSWA’s policy is simple. We collect personal information about you only when you knowingly and willingly provide it, and we will not share or otherwise profit from the distribution of personal data beyond its original intended use.

By using this site, you agree to the CANSWA Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the Canadian Support Worker Association (CANSWA) site. However, if you continue to use our site, you will signify your acceptance of any changes to our online privacy policy.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time; please review it frequently. What We Collect

When you visit the Canadian Support Worker Association (CANSWA) site, you provide us with two types of information. 

First, your personal information you knowingly choose to disclose is collected by us. When you register with Canadian Support Worker Association, you provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address.

When you use CANSWA, you may set up your profile, send messages, perform searches and queries, and transmit information through various channels. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period to enable the reversion of any related information.

Second, site use information (i.e., Analytics) is collected by us as you interact with our site. This information we collect applies to all CANSWA visitors. We collect your browser type and IP address. Also, we store certain information from your browser using “cookies.” A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We also use session ID cookies to confirm if users are logged in. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to CANSWA. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature. Any other cookies from CANSWA will terminate once your browser or app is closed.

CANSWA is committed to respecting and safeguarding the privacy of our stakeholders. We aim to ensure the protection of personal information of our employees, customers, clients, and users of this site. It has always been the fundamental way we do business at CANSWA, in all our relationships, either on or offline.

Employee/Volunteer Confidentiality

Upon employment, as an employee or volunteer of CANSWA, we require them to sign a “Confidentiality Agreement and Code of Ethics” that ensures the confidential handling of business information. This agreement demonstrates our commitment, both collectively and as individuals, to protecting the confidentiality of information held by the company, including “customer information.”

Your Account

You can correct or update your account information at any time by logging on to our site and navigating to “My Account.” Should you be unable to log in or wish to have your account(s) deactivated, contact our Privacy Policy Administrator at admin@canswa.ca. We will be happy to review, update, or remove information as appropriate.

Due to technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity, and operation of our website, we may still retain your information in our files to resolve disputes and enforce our user agreement.

Mailing List

On the CANSWA site, you can optionally register for our mailing list. If you wish to opt-out, you can unsubscribe here or through any mailing list emails, you received.

Limitation of Liability

Online communications are subject to interception, loss, and alteration. On whichever site you provide personal information, a third party could potentially view that information.

You acknowledge and agree that CANSWA and its affiliates and related companies shall not be responsible for any damages you may suffer as a result of the transmission of confidential or sensitive information through your online activities. All such communications will be at your own risk.
