Biography

Nicole Crawford began her career in healthcare after completing the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program at Niagara College in 2013. Starting on the front lines of care, she gained valuable hands-on experience supporting residents in long-term care, home care, retirement homes, group homes, and hospice settings. This foundation shaped her strong commitment to compassion, advocacy, and patient-centered care.
Over the years, Nicole expanded her experience across diverse healthcare environments, taking on increasing responsibilities and gaining insight into both the clinical and operational aspects of care. Her work exposed her to a wide range of situations, strengthening her ability to navigate complex challenges, support staff, and advocate effectively for both residents and colleagues. Having been involved with OPSWA for over ten years, and becoming a full-time staff member in 2023, she has progressed into her current role.
Transitioning into an administrative and operational capacity, Nicole brought her frontline experience into organizational support and member services. She is known for her practical, solutions-focused approach, strong communication skills, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Today, Nicole plays a key role in supporting members, coordinating services, and ensuring processes run efficiently. Her healthcare background continues to inform her work, allowing her to approach challenges with empathy, clarity, and a deep understanding of the sector. As a public-facing representative for engagement and presentations, she values the opportunity to share and promote the importance of the PSW role across Ontario.
